I take payments via Etsy Direct Checkout (including Etsy Gift Cards), and Paypal. If you have a Paypal account, you can use your card, Paypal balance, or bank account (if you have set up your Paypal account that way). If you don't have a Paypal account, you can still pay using the Paypal system, and then choose not to allow Paypal to open an account for you at the end of the transaction process.

I only ship items once the payment has been received in full.

You have the right to cancel your order at any time up to 14 working days from the day after receiving the goods, in line with EU Distance Selling Regulations. You may cancel, in writing, by convo or post to Janet Granger, 6 Chenoweth Close, Camborne, Cornwall TR14 7JR England. I guarantee to refund the full purchase price (but not the shipping cost) within 30 days of cancellation. Any such unwanted goods remain the property of Janet Granger Designs and must be returned to me at your own expense, unused and in perfect condition.

As from 1st July, due to Brexit, VAT at the usual rate for the country you are in has to be paid on top of the price of the items that you order from me. I am really sorry about this extra cost that you have to pay now, but there is no way to avoid it.

The prices shown to customers in mainland Europe now INCLUDE VAT. So, you pay at the checkout for your items which now include the VAT, plus shipping. I then post your parcel, and it travels to the Customs of your country, but should get cleared quicker because the VAT has already been paid. There is therefore no extra collection fee to be paid to your post office (which would be the case if you ordered from my own website, for instance, which has to work on a different system), and your parcel will simply be delivered to you.

EXAMPLE, for a kit costing 20 GBP:

AT THE ETSY CHECKOUT: Kit – 20 GBP
Shipping – 6 GBP
VAT charged at Etsy checkout – about 4 GBP (depending on country)

For those of you who live in Germany, I am afraid that I no longer send parcels to Germany as from 1st June 2022. This is due to the new packaging regulations that Germany has started to impose – it is just too expensive for a small business like mine to pay for an annual licence and deal with the paperwork that is involved. So, after 25 years of being able to say that I ship “anywhere in the world”….from 1st of June 2022, that is no longer the case.

For customers in all other countries, I can still post parcels to you as usual.

I ship worldwide (except Germany - see below), within 1 to 3 business days (except in exceptional circumstances, when I will put a Shop Announcement up, giving the revised time frame). Everything shown in my Etsy shop is in stock.

UNITED KINGDOM: £2.95 flat rate per order (however many items you buy)
OVERSEAS (Outside of the United Kingdom): £6.00 flat rate per order (however many items you buy)

For UK destinations, I ship using Royal Mail Second Class, with items usually arriving between two to seven *working* days after being posted.

For non-UK destinations, I ship using Royal Mail International Standard Airmail. This is an economical and reliable, but not trackable, method. Please allow time for your parcel to be processed by Customs in your country - this varies between countries, but can be anything from a few days to several weeks. You are responsible for any Customs charges/Duties that may be payable.

Please note: Claims for damage in transit must be made within 3 days of receipt, with supporting visual evidence of the packaging and items.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services. I never sell your personal information.
Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Mailchimp (my newsletter platform provider) is Privacy Shield certified.

Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
